Dental filling is a treatment for the most common disease of the teeth, i.e. caries. With filling, the anatomical appearance is restored, the function is restored and the life of the teeth is extended.
After the removal of the carious part, i.e. the diseased part of the tooth, it is filled with a restoration material that should correspond to the hardness of the natural tooth, anatomically and morphologically imitate the surfaces of the teeth and aesthetically satisfy in terms of color.
One of the most common dental restoration materials used today are composites and voice ionomer cements.
The purpose of fillings is to compensate for the part of the dental crown that is lost most often as a result of caries or trauma (tooth fracture) or for aesthetic reasons to correct defects, shape and size.
