Fixed orthodontic appliances represent orthodontic aids consisting of brackets that are placed on the teeth and arches with which all the brackets are connected in order to move them to their ideal position. They can be steel or ceramic.
Mobile orthodontic appliances represent orthodontic aids that the patient can place and remove from the oral cavity by himself. They are used at an early age to correct the growth and development of the jaws, depending on the case. With mobile prostheses, cooperation with the patient is extremely important, that is, regular carrying the mobile device.
Aligners are an alternative to fixed orthodontic aids. They are transparent foils that are made in a laboratory on a previously taken impression of the patient’s oral cavity.
They are easy to get used to, comfortable and almost unnoticeable. Unlike fixed orthodontic appliances, where the force is concentrated on the brace, with aligners the force is on the entire tooth. With aligners, light, medium and severe anomalies of the teeth are solved, in relation to the weight of the the number of foils that will be needed to bring the teeth into an ideal position also depends on the case.
